Non-writers and writers alike sometimes ask what makes a writer write, what motivates them to put pen to paper.  Sometimes its joy, sometimes its angst.  A lot more times it’s frustration.  I’ve written at all levels of the emotional spectrum.  But for writers of romance and erotica, a good face, voice or bod can really whip one into creative shape.  Here are some male and female characters and figures whose persona inspired a position--I mean a character or two.  Yeah, That's It.

Males.

Space Ghost.  That voice.  That black mask.  Who doesn’t love a guy who can wear that much white and not look like a Giant roll of toilet paper?  Currently Can Be Seen From Time to Time On Adult Swim And Whenever The Hell We Ghost-Lovers Want on DVD.

Taz.  My all-time favorite Looney Toon cartoon.  I Think It's All That Pent-Up Male Energy.

Evil Dead’s Ash.  That infamous chin.  That Barbed Tongue.  Did Someone Say Tongue?

Vincent.  That voice That Could Melt An Iceberg.  Love him in anything.

Star Trek’s Spock.  Just the right amount of aloofness and sensitivity to make him intriguing.  Just Have To Wonder What The Spockster Would Be Like In Bed.

Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor.  Amazing talent and really interesting person.  All nine inches.

China Beach’s Dodger.  The ultimate soldier.  This Guy Needed A Hug.

Gargoyles’ Goliath.  Those Wings.  Those Muscles.  Awesome.

Dracula.  Okay, so he’s a creature of the night, Hell-spawn, undead and always thirsty for a comely female’s fluids, but he’s got presence.  Big, dark, scary presence.

Wolverine.  Brooding and armed.  I Think We Can Forgive The Occasional Scratch Here And There Can't We Girls?

Peter Steele.  Tall, Dark Gothic-y Goodness.  He’ll love you to death.

Witch Hunter Robin’s Nagira.  I Love A Well-Dressed Man.

Females.

The Golden Girls’ Dorothy.  Long, Tall, Lean and Mean, She’s positively delightful.

The Long Kiss Goodnight’s Charlie Baltimore.  Kick-ass Mama.

Strange Days’ Mace.  Angela rocks no matter what.

Aliens’ Ripley.  Unstoppable.

Xena’s Lucy Lawless.  She made the war-cry cool again.

Mae West.  voluptuous.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Buffy.  Suck-Heads with a wit.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit’s Jessica.  Redheads unite!
